the approach:

I created a newly designed graphic template to recognize University of Manitoba Bisons student-athletes who have received national awards in the 2024 - 2025 season.

I wanted to incorporate the athlete’s jersey numbers to the piece because of its significance to their legacy. The mix of different textures like fabric from jersey numbers and paper overlays creates interest.

These were posted to @umbisons on Instagram and printed and framed to gift to the athletes. The Bisons staff say, “The response [from the student-athletes] was overwhelmingly positive.”
